Question of the Day
You are out on a walk when you pass a small, dark junk shop that you have somehow never noticed before. You go in, hoping to find a rare and valuable edition of The Hobbit or a first edition Karma Sutra on the dusty and unbrowsed shelves. In the corner of the shop you find a small, tarnished oil lamp.
Knowing well the likelihood of finding a Plot Coupon in a small, dark junk shop, you hastily buy the lamp and exit the shop. You scurry to the nearest alley, crouch down in a corner and eagerly rub the lamp with your sleeve. Thick purple smoke billows from the lamp, engulfing you and possibly causing you to reach for your inhaler or epipen, depending on who is reading this.
When the smoke clears a genie stands before you. He is not blue, he is not giant, he sounds nothing like Robin Williams or Dan Castellaneta, but he is still a genie. In semi-phenomenal nearly-cosmic tones he announces:
"It is I, the genie of the lamp! I have the power to grant you one single wish. The wish may be applied to you, to your person and to no-one else, and the effects of the wish will last for fully 24 hours, no more, no less." He stands back majestically and folds his not-blue arms, waiting for you to speak.
